While figuring out what it is exactly that I want to say and share with the world through this space, I approach an endless pile of information with an open mind and visualize this exchange in the same way that I do my spell work and rituals. The first “step”, or the ground on which I’m able to stand and recite and create is from the shield of divine protection.
There is NOTHING more important in your practise and spell work than ensuring that you are protecting yourself and the intentional work that you’re doing. I’m going to share all of the knowledge on protection, and staying protected that I have acquired in my personal research, spells and experience.
I share this in hopes if you do decide to dabble, or start somewhere in your witch journey, that you’re protected from negativity and harm in the work that you do. It can be so easy to be caught up in our own good intentions, but it is necessary to ensure you are lacing those intentions in a web of protection from outside negativity. Protecting yourself and your practise is a crucial step in ensuring the purpose of your work comes to fruition.
SALT
The most powerful tool on your altar for protecting your practice and ritual tools is SALT.
This is because negative energeries cannot cross the energetic force field of salt. Many witches opt to sprinkle salt around the perimeter of their home for this reason.
In almost all work that you do to repel negativity and protect your intention, best practice is to cast a circle of salt around the ritual space before casting.
